PHILADELPHIA—Philadelphia residents can now get their annual flu shots and COVID vaccines for free, with no appointment needed at City Health Centers right in their neighborhoods. The Philadelphia Department of Public Health’s annual flu shot and COVID vaccine clinics are now open. These clinics are open to any Philadelphia resident aged 6 months or older.

“We know that seasonal vaccines, like the flu shot and COVID-19 vaccine, can and do save lives every year,” said Philadelphia Health Commissioner, Dr. Palak Raval-Nelson. “Having them available for free, right in your neighborhood, is the best way we can make sure that it’s easy to protect yourself and your loved ones. Remember, the best gift you can give this holiday season is a healthy family. Protect your loved ones by getting a flu shot and COVID-19 vaccine today.”

The annual flu shot is the best way to protect yourself from seasonal influenza, which can lead to severe disease or even death in certain children, older adults, and those who are immune compromised. It is well-tolerated and created to match the flu strains that are circulating.

The COVID vaccine is the best way to protect yourself from severe COVID. It can also reduce your risk of getting sick at all. The COVID vaccine has been taken by millions of Americans every year since it was released and has been found to offer excellent protection against COVID, especially for people over the age of 65.

The vaccines available through these special seasonal clinics are available to all Philadelphia residents over the age of six months. No identification aside from proof of residency (like a utility bill in the resident’s name) is required to be vaccinated. All vaccines in these clinics are offered free of charge. No appointment is necessary to be vaccinated; residents can just walk in.
