Every year, the Department of Licenses and Inspections (L&I) brings together residents, businesses and contractors for our Focus Group Sessions an open forum where your voices shape the future of our services. If you’ve applied for a license or permit, you’ve had the chance to join in and share your experiences and ideas.
This year, your feedback is driving real change. Here’s where L&I is focusing its efforts to serve you better:
- eCLIPSE: We’re streamlining business license renewals, automating how permit holds get resolved and making it easier for you to view your permits online.
- Communication: We’re expanding our internal knowledge base, creating helpful training videos, sharing new support resources and publishing a clear, step-by-step guide on inspection requirements.
- Permit Issuance: We’re simplifying EZ permit standards, rethinking rules for minor residential changes and sharing approval timelines so you know what to expect.
- Inspections: We’re providing clearer instructions and exploring ways to send more accurate inspector arrival times- possibly right to your phone via text.
- Violations: We’re making complaint statuses easier to understand, publishing average investigation timelines and improving the Violation Resolution webpage to keep you informed every step of the way.
