In the wake of the terrible mass shooting in our community, Mayor Cherelle L. Parker and the Office of Neighborhood and Community Engagement are hosting a prayer vigil. This event is to remember the victims and support their families.
This heartbreaking event has left a mark on our city, reminding us of the importance of coming together in times of tragedy.
The prayer vigil will be held this Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at Lemon Hill in Fairmount Park where community members, local leaders, and faith representatives will gather to remember those we lost and to find comfort together.
Participants are encouraged to bring candles, flowers, or personal mementos that reflect the lives of those we mourn.
The evening will include thoughtful prayers, moments of silence, and opportunities for individuals to share their stories, fostering a sense of connection and community resilience.
The vigil also aims to shed light on important issues like gun violence and mental health. Leaders from different groups will talk about resources for those who need help and stress the importance of talking as a community to prevent future tragedies.
