PHILADELPHIA–Philadelphia Parks & Recreation Commissioner Susan Slawson announced today that Parks & Rec will host a summer job fair at the Dell Music Center on April 13 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

“We are pulling out all the stops to get folks hired and positions filled to give Philadelphians the best summer ever,” Commissioner Slawson said. “Whether you’re a teen, young adult, professional, or retiree, you can get help at our job fair to find a position that works for you.”

Job fair attendees will be able to get information about available Parks & Rec seasonal positions, including:

  • Lifeguards
  • Seasonal maintenance attendants
  • Camp staff
  • Youth employment
  • Seasonal Park Rangers

These crucial roles help deliver fun and safe experiences for children and families across Philadelphia, in pools, parks, playgrounds, and rec centers in every neighborhood. Seasonal jobs are an effective avenue for teens and young adults to learn job skills, gain experience, and get exposure to different careers; provide supplemental income for professionals like teachers and coaches; and keep retirees connected with their communities.

The job fair will also feature representatives from Rita’s Italian Ice, Local 332, and Net Center, among other participants. Job fair attendees can also learn about full-time careers and get advice from City employees. Free food will also be available.

The Dell Music Center is located at 2400 Strawberry Hill Mansion Drive. The rain date for the job fair is April 20. Questions can be directed to PPR.Training@phila.gov.
