Who says grown-ups can’t have fun? Philadelphia Parks & Recreation’s Older Adult program invites you unleash your creativity and find inspiration at Senior Art Camp.

Older Adults can register for one or two of the week-long art classes held at Fairmount Park Horticulture Center. Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

A variety of art classes are offered including:

  • Intermediate acrylic painting
  • Advanced acrylic painting
  • Drawing and sketching
  • Drawing with colored pencils/oil pastels
  • Mixed media
  • 3-D paper mâché sculpture
  • Bead-n-Go jewelry making
  • Advanced watercolor
  • Crafts

Camp costs $50 per person, per week. You can sign up for classes on one or both of these weeks:

  • Week 1 – June 3 to 6, 2024
  • Week 2 – June 10 to 14, 2024

All participants receive personalized instruction and basic artist materials. Continental breakfast and lunch are provided each day.

How to register

You must pre-register for this camp by Friday, May 24, 2024. You can register in-person or in the mail.

In-person registration takes place at the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center, 4180 Horticulture Dr., Philadelphia, 19131.

There are two days to register in person:

  • Tuesday, March 19, 2024 – 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Tuesday, April 30, 2024 – 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
