PHILADELPHIA – The Streets Department will begin performing granite block repairs and partial roadway reconstruction at Winston Road and Mermaid Lane in Chestnut Hill at the end of the week of March 18.  Temporary lane closures will be expected to allow the contractor to remove existing roadway patches and replace missing granite block.  Granite block repairs in this area are expected to last one to two months.

Traffic through the intersection is anticipated to be maintained with temporary lane closures expected on Winston Road between Mermaid Lane and Germantown Avenue and on Mermaid Lane between Winston Road and Germantown Avenue.  Detour signs will be placed to help direct traffic through the area.

The granite block repairs are being performed as part of a City Streets Department Historic Street Restoration project. This work is being completed by Seravalli Inc. Contractors. The project is being financed with City and State funding.

The Streets Department thanks the residents in advance for their patience and cooperation during this project.
