As 2022 ends, The Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD) is looking back at all the moments this past year that brought our mission into action for the disability community. We will continue to work with departments, the disability community, and our partners to create an equitable and accessible experience for all. The Mayor’s Commission on People with Disabilities (MCPD) offered four public meetings and six large community conversations around transportation, the Philadelphia Disability Characteristics Map, housing, and public safety. The MOPD provided dozens of trainings on accessibility, ableism, and disability inclusion for departments and community members. The MOPD will continue to do the work of uplifting the voices of all members of the disability community and continue to foster an inclusive city for all Philadelphians in 2023 and beyond. The 2022 Year in Review offers highlights of the work that the MOPD has done to ensure that Philadelphia is inclusive and equitable for residents and visitors with disabilities.
