Philadelphia Parks & Recreation and Creative Praxis are excited to host “YOUTH JAWN” on Saturday November 12, 2022.
This youth-led, art-based event is FREE & open to youth ages 14-24. Attendees will have the chance to:
- Connect with other youth from across the city.
- Hear about trauma, stress and their impacts.
- Learn de-escalation tools and effective ways of communicating.
- Understand systemic oppression.
- Share ideas for new youth-centered programming at City recreation centers.
- Come together to plan ways for youth to address community violence.
- Develop their leadership skills.
At the youth summit, teens can share their thoughts on the city’s recreation programs, and help Parks & Rec reimagining rec centers for 21st century youth and families!
The summit will help Parks & Rec engage more teens and older youth by:
- Developing Parks & Rec’s next generation of youth leaders.
- Generating new ideas for youth programming at City recreation centers.
- Uncovering strategies for safety and violence prevention at City recreation centers.
