PHILADELPHIA – Lincoln Drive between Wissahickon Avenue and Ridge Avenue / Kelly Drive will have the “inbound” or southbound lanes closed temporarily overnight Wednesday, August 17, Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams announced today. The following temporary closure is scheduled to be in effect from approximately 8:00 PM on Wednesday until 5:00 AM on Thursday:
- Southbound Lincoln Drive traffic will be detoured at Wissahickon Avenue. Detour signs will be posted along Wissahickon Avenue, Walnut Lane, and Ridge Avenue to direct traffic to the end of the closure.
- Northbound traffic will not be affected.
The temporary closure will allow City employees to safely work along this winding stretch of road. This work has been scheduled for nighttime hours to expedite repairs, minimize disruption to motorists, and provide a safe work environment for the workers. Police Department assistance will be on call to help maintain a safe traffic flow in the area.
All work will be completed, and the lane will be restored by 5:00 AM to ensure that the road will be open for morning rush hour traffic. For the duration of the work, Streets Department crews will make every effort to minimize the inconvenience to effected drivers, residents, and businesses. The Streets Department thanks motorists in advance for their patience and cooperation as we work to improve the roadway.
