The City of Philadelphia launched the Corridor Safety Enhancement Grant, a fund that contributes to equitable neighborhood revitalization and vibrant business districts.

The application deadline is March 18, 2022 at 11:59 p.m.

The Corridor Safety Enhancement Grant supports community-serving nonprofits by enhancing a positive and inviting atmosphere of public safety in and around business districts in the neighborhoods they serve. The goal is to increase foot traffic, reduce stress for business owners, attract new businesses or promote available commercial real estate.

Applicants can apply for an award amount of between $10,000 and $34,000 to complete their project.

Residents deserve to feel safe where they shop and do business.  The Corridor Safety Enhancement Grant will help diverse nonprofits increase their funding capacity and support the public safety needs of microenterprises that face unique barriers in accessing resources.

The Corridor Safety Enhancement Grant is a program of the Department of Commerce that contributes to the City’s violence prevention and reduction goals.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be a community-serving nonprofit organization located in the City of Philadelphia. Creative and innovative ideas related to public safety are welcomed. Examples include but are not limited to:
  • Resources, such as alarm systems and toolkits.
  • Events and festivals, such as night markets, corridor parades, and resource fairs.
  • Placemaking and beautification efforts such as planters, and art projects
  • Programs, such as business safety, CPR training, holistic wellness and trauma-informed health services for businesses and community leaders.

Note: The Corridor Safety Enhancement Grant cannot fund the staffing or operations of private security forces and the purchase of vehicles.
