The Streets Department will provide roadway improvements along Cottman Avenue between Castor Avenue and Roosevelt Boulevard. The project will include a new signalized pedestrian crossing, new LED street lighting, upgraded traffic signals, raised concrete medians, ADA curb ramps, sidewalk bump-outs, bus shelters, benches, and street trees. The project will also incorporate green stormwater infrastructure designed by the Philadelphia Water Department. These improvements are intended to increase roadway safety, mobility, and access for travelers along the corridor.

As the project is in the design phase, the Streets Department would like to share the currently planned improvements with the public. This design is based on feedback from the previous Steering Committee meetings and two Public Open Houses. The goal is to share the designs and gather input. Due to COVID-19, this outreach will be conducted virtually. We cordially invite you to:

  • Visit the Virtual Public Open House anytime between September 8, 2021 and October 6,
  • Attend the Virtual Project Presentation with Q&A Session on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm, to hear from the Project Team and have your questions answered.

Please direct comments or questions on the project to CottmanAveProject@Phila.gov.
