The Police Advisory Commission stands with and grieves alongside the Asian Community after the senseless shootings that took place in Atlanta, Georgia on March 16, 2021. The fact that this tragedy appears to have been racially motivated makes the incident intolerable. We urge all Philadelphia residents to report all incidents of Anti-Asian bias, harassment, crime and victimization to the Philadelphia Police Department.

To our Asian family and friends in Philadelphia, we want you to know that you matter. Racially motivated violence has no place in our community and PAC is committed to working to make this city the safe, inclusive, and diverse place we all call home.

Previously, we worked with the Philadelphia Police Department, Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations, City of Philadelphia Office of Immigrant Affairs, and the Mayor’s Commission on Asian American Affairs to issue a flyer that provided information about what to expect when reporting incidents of anti-Asian bias incidents to the Philadelphia Police Department. The Flyer can be found under the bulletins section of the PAC website at https://www.phila.gov/documents/resident-information-bulletins/. The document includes translations of the flyer into several languages. The City of Philadelphia has several language assistance programs available for translation services, if needed.

Please contact the PAC at pac@phila.gov or 215-685-0891 with questions.
