PHILADELPHIA – Southbound (inbound) Lincoln Drive between Wissahickon and Ridge Avenues will close overnight Thursday, January 21, from 8:00 p.m. to Friday at 5:00 a.m., announced Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams.
Southbound traffic between Wissahickon and Kelly Drive will be detoured at Wissahickon Avenue. Detour signs will be posted along Wissahickon Avenue, Walnut Lane, and Ridge Avenue to direct motorists to the end of the closure. Northbound traffic will not be affected.
The temporary closure will allow City employees to safely work along the winding stretch of road. This work has been scheduled for nighttime hours in order to expedite repairs, minimize disruption to motorists, and provide a safe work environment for the workers. Police Department assistance will be on call to help maintain a safe traffic flow in the area.
All work will be completed and lanes restored by 5:00 a.m. on January 21, to assure that the road will be open for “rush hour”. For the duration of the work, Streets Department crews will make every effort to minimize the inconvenience to effected drivers, residents, and businesses. The Streets Department thanks residents in advance for their patience and cooperation during this project.
