Philadelphia’s 17 Community Schools connect students, families, and community members with:

In the Mayor’s Office of Education, we are thankful that we are able to help Philadelphians thrive, and grateful for the 17 principals who work with our office to make Community Schools possible. Community Schools principals are thankful for many things! The #1 thing they’re most grateful for? Their coordinators! Here’s more of our Community School principals are thankful for this holiday season, and year round:

I’m thankful for our community partners, including West Philly Promise Neighborhood, People’s Emergency Center, and so many others that support the students and community members every day

Sharon Marino, Alexander McClure School

I’m thankful for our school partners, friends, and supporters of McClure, who help lift us up as a community

Dr. Toni Damon, Murrell Dobbins CTE High School

I am thankful for our partnership with Philabundance, which has led to the distribution of over 130,000 pounds of fresh produce in our neighborhood, additionally, Get Fit Saturdays have created new opportunities for our neighborhood to come together and learn new ways to stay active

Tameka Ford-Smith, William Tilden Middle School

I am very thankful for Tilden’s food pantry, it allows us to support the many families in our community that are in need of assistance, with the holiday season approaching it warms my heart to be able to offer this service to our families
