PHILADELPHIA –The Streets Department will be resurfacing several streets overnight in Center City on Saturday, August 10th between 12am and 12pm, Streets Commissioner Carlton Williams announced today. The streets that will be resurfaced are:

  • 15th St from Chestnut to South Streets
  • Bach Place from Broad to 15th Streets
  • 1400 Chancellor St.

This work will require a full closure as the paving and line striping crews perform their work. Motorists are encouraged to use Broad and 17th Sts. for traveling. No detour will be posted. The Streets Department will be coordinating with SEPTA on this detour.

To complete the work, motorists should expect parking restrictions. Temporary ‘No Parking’ signs will be posted. Motorists are urged to move their cars from the work sites where signs are posted, so that vehicles are not towed. In the event a car is towed, please contact your local Police District to determine its location. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling around the work areas.

The Streets Department thanks citizens in advance for their patience and cooperation as we work to improve city streets. For more information on the City’s paving program, please click here. For information on all City services, please call 311.
