The new PHL City ID can help get you into all tax and water bill assistance programs run by the Department of Revenue. Effective immediately, we accept the Philadelphia-issued photo ID when a program’s application requires a form of personal identification.
For example, you can use the PHL City ID to prove:
- Your identity when applying for an Owner-Occupied Payment Agreement (OOPA).
- Age requirement when applying for the Senior Real Estate Tax Freeze.
- Your residency when applying for water bill help.
These are just three examples, but Revenue accepts PHL City ID for ALL our program applications.
The PHL City ID was unveiled in April 2019 as part of a city-wide effort that includes both public and private partners.
The secure and affordable card works as a form of identification in Philadelphia, and provides access to many services and discounts.
