Do you want to give back this Martin Luther King Jr. Day? Parks & Rec has locations all over the city participating in the MLK Day of Service on Monday, January 21 (unless otherwise noted). Take these three easy steps to get involved.

1. Determine which project you’re interested in.

Find a recreation center or playground near you, or explore a new neighborhood! Our map lays out all the Parks & Rec sites hosting events. Most of these events are indoor cleaning/painting or outdoor cleanup.

2. Create an MLK Day of Service account.

Once you’ve picked where you would like to volunteer, click “Volunteer Information” to go to the MLK Day of Service website.

Sign up for a free account by providing your name, address, and email address. This will allow you to see details on the available project and easily volunteer for it.

3. Decide how many volunteers are coming with you.

You will be prompted to list how many volunteers you will be with. Enter a number, click “Volunteer,” and you’re all set!

View all the Community Volunteer Opportunities and filter by “Project Type.”
