PHILADELPHIA – The Mayor’s Office released the following statement upon the passing of Mayor Kenney’s father earlier today:

James F. Kenney, Mayor Kenney’s father, passed away suddenly today, December 4. He was 83 years old. Funeral arrangements are pending. The Mayor will have no public appearances the remainder of the week. We ask that the public and media respect the family’s privacy at this time.
