PHILADELPHIA – Mayor Kenney released the following statement on tonight’s election results.

“I am extremely proud of Philadelphians. Today, we joined our fellow citizens from across the nation in turning out at the polls in greater numbers than any midterm election in recent history. We’ve made our collective voices heard, and I feel more hopeful tonight for the future of our country than I’ve been in some time.

“I wish to congratulate Governor Tom Wolf and Lt. Governor-elect John Fetterman on their well-deserved victory, as well as members of the General Assembly for earning reelection. I also congratulate State Representatives-elect Joe Hohenstein, Elizabeth Fiedler, Danilo Burgos, Malcolm Kenyatta, and Mary Isaacson, as well as Congresswoman-elect Mary Gay Scanlon on their victories. I am confident that they will serve the constituents of their districts well.

“I commend Senator Bob Casey, Congressman Brendan Boyle, and Congressman Dwight Evans on their successful reelections. We are fortunate to have these public servants fighting on behalf of all Philadelphians in Washington.

“I look forward to continuing to work with all of our state and federal partners to help move Philadelphia forward.”
