With news today, it’s easy to miss things that happen, even locally here in your neighborhood. #PhillyMayorThisWeek recaps five moments from the past seven days you might’ve missed.
1. Mayor Kenney attended the annual Labor Day parade with workers, City officials, and community activists.
Labor Day is a time to reflect on all workers, but especially America's labor movement. Without unions, we wouldn't have a middle class. We stand with workers because the things they fight for – family-sustaining wages, workplace protections, the dignity of work – impact us all. pic.twitter.com/c8HQpj2ICf

2. The Mayor encouraged everyone to wear green to cheer on the Eagles as they opened their season as world champions; the Birds later went on to beat the Atlanta Falcons 18-12.
Love it. Tomorrow, be sure to wear green to help us turn the town green as we cheer on the Eagles as they kickoff the season at the Linc! Go Birds!

Best time of year! We're starting another year of #PHLpreK, our no-cost quality pre-K program funded by the #PhillyBevTax. Now that the PA Supreme Court upheld the tax, we're adding 250 new seats this year. Eventually, we'll ramp up to 5500 helping thousands more Philly families. pic.twitter.com/yysoJHHcui
