Summer may be unofficially over, but Parks & Rec is keeping the outdoor fun going. We have some big events planned for this weekend, from festivals to fishing to finales! Get moving at the Boxers’ Trail 5K or relax at a Unity Cup soccer game with friends.

Watch out for a possibility of rain and check event pages for any delays or changes.

Philadelphia Honey Festival

The 2018 Philadelphia Honey Festival, a celebration of honey and urban beekeeping, will take place at two Parks & Rec locations. Come out to Glen Foerd on the Delaware on Friday, September 7 and Bartram’s Garden on Sunday, September 9 for family friendly activities, food and drinks, demonstrations, and more.

When: Friday, September 7, 5 p.m.-9 p.m., and Sunday, September 9, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Movie Night: Coco

As part of Fairmount Park Conservancy’s Movies in the Park program, Coco will play at dusk at Powers Park. Bring a blanket or chair!

Philly Fun Fishing Fest

This Saturday, Philadelphians of all ages are invited to the catch-and-release Philly Fun Fishing Fest at Schuylkill Banks. The event is open to experienced anglers and newcomers alike, and provides a great opportunity to see first-hand just how much our scenic Schuylkill River has to offer.

When: Saturday, September 8, 7 a.m.-12 p.m.
Where: Schuylkill Banks (24th and Walnut Sts., 19106)

Boxers’ Trail 5K Walk/Run

Walk or run the scenic cliff paths of the Boxers’ Trail in East Fairmount Park where heavyweight boxing champion Joe Frazier trained. Proceeds from the Boxers’ Trail 5K benefit East Fairmount Park and Mander Playground.

Use the coupon code BOXERS5OFF while registering to receive a $5 discount (code expires on Thursday, September 6). Walkups are also welcome!

Philly Cup Skateboard Series Finale

This is the last event of the 7th Annual Philly Cup Skateboard Series! Skateboarders have been competing all summer, but all are welcome to join the last competition. Competitions begin at 12 p.m., and lunch is provided.

Unity Cup Knockout Rounds
