One of the biggest weekends of the summer is here, as The Oval+ officially opens for its summer season on Friday! That’s not all though: there are tons of movies, music, and more to discover this weekend at Parks & Rec locations.

As always, check the weather forecast and links below for possible schedule changes, as there might be some rain on Saturday or Sunday. Friday looks bright and sunny though!

The Oval+ Kickoff

The Oval+ is back for its sixth season. Each season, eight acres of public space on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway transform into a summer pop-up park with community programming. The kickoff night for this month-long program will feature circus performers, a movie showing of The Greatest Showman, entertainment by BEN FM, and more.

When: Friday, July 20, 5 p.m.-11 p.m.

Movie Night: Trolls

This summer, many of Philly’s parks will turn into outdoor movie theaters once dusk sets in! Grab a blanket and head to Gathers Recreation Center for a movie night presented by Council President Darrell Clarke.

Guided Nature Walk with Roving Naturalists

Every Saturday through July and August, you can hang out with the Tookany/Tacony-Frankford (TTF) Watershed Partnership’s Roving Naturalists! These traveling plant and animal experts will be on the Tacony Creek Park Trail, with park maps, fun nature games, and more.

When: Saturday, July 21, 9 a.m.-11 a.m.

Fiesta Caribeña

The 11th annual Fiesta Caribeña festival takes place this Saturday, featuring family activities and live performances all afternoon. The celebration is sponsored by HACE CDC.

Free Neighborhood Chamber Concert

The Philadelphia Orchestra invites you to their final free Neighborhood Chamber Concert of the season. Come early to enjoy activities, food trucks, giveaways, and more!

Parks on Tap continues to travel around the city, with all locations including seating and tables, games, restrooms, and of course, food and drinks. This weekend, Parks on Tap travels to Burholme Park.
