Summer activities are popping up left and right as we cruise through July. Enjoy the warm weather relaxing around a campfire, watch an outdoor movie, or run through Fairmount Park: check out what’s up this weekend in Philly parks and playgrounds.

Storytelling Campfire

Enjoy an evening of stories around the campfire at Pennypack Environmental Center! Campfires are followed by marshmallow toasting. Suggested age of 5 and up.

When: Friday, July 13, 7:30 p.m.

Movie Night: The Incredibles

This summer, many of Philly’s parks will turn into outdoor movie theaters once dusk sets in! Grab a blanket and head to Wharton Square to catch a flick with friends and neighbors. This movie is presented in partnership with Councilman Kenyatta Johnson.

When: Friday, July 13, 8 p.m.
Where: Wharton Square (2300 Wharton St., 19146)
Cost: Free

Guided Trail Run in East Fairmount Park

Lace up your sneakers and venture off the beaten path for this 4-5 mile run through East Fairmount Park via the Boxers’ Trail. Part of a series of guided trail runs, this is a road and trail run that will show you wonderful hidden gems in Philly’s parks.

When: Saturday, July 14, 9 a.m.-10:30 a.m.
Where: Lloyd Hall (1 Boathouse Row, 19130)
Cost: Free for Fairmount Park Conservancy members; $10 donation for non-members

Clark Park Farmers’ Market

Parks & Rec hosts this farmers’ market in partnership with the Food Trust. This neighborhood favorite operates on Saturdays year-round, and has a full roster of vendors. Free health screenings from Lankenau Medical Center will also be provided this week: get your height, weight, and blood pressure checked within minutes.

When: Saturday, July 14, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Where: Clark Park (4301 Chester Ave., 19104)
Cost: Free

Treetop Quest Aerial Adventure

Did you know you can zipline in West Fairmount Park? Spend your Sunday in the park as you jump, soar, climb, and zip through Philadelphia’s first treetop obstacle course. Each adventure lasts 2.5 hour, with course options for 4-6 year olds, 7-11 year olds, and 12 and up.

When: Sunday, July 15, any time between 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Where: West Fairmount Park (51 Chamounix Drive, 19131)
Cost: Prices vary by age
