PHILADELPHIA – Mayor Kenney released the following statement on the fatal police-involved shooting that occurred Wednesday night. In August 2017, the Mayor began a policy of releasing a written statement on all fatal police-involved shootings within 36 hours.

“My prayers are with the family and friends of Dennis Plowden.  It is always tragic to lose someone you love. I am relieved there were no serious injuries to the officer or to the other passenger in the car. The Officer Involved Shooting Investigation Unit will do a full investigation. I look forward to them coming to a speedy resolution for the sake of Mr. Plowden, his family, the officers and for Philadelphia.”
