Report a dead animal in a street

The Department of Sanitation can remove a dead animal from the street. The department will not remove a dead animal from private property, including sidewalks.

Requirements

The form below is only for reporting dead animals found in the street.

Other locations

Private property

Property owners are responsible for removing dead animals on their property. Do not bury dead animals. If you find a dead animal, you can put the animal in a sealed trash bag and place it in the trash. You can also bring the dead animal to ACCT Philly for disposal.

On rare occasions, ACCT Philly may be able to remove a dead animal from your property. If you are unable to leave your home, you may be eligible for this service. This costs $40 and requires a manager’s approval. Contact ACCT Philly at (267) 385-3800 for more information.

State highways

To report a dead animal on a state highway, submit a concern to PennDOT online or call (800) 349-7623.
