ADMINISTRATION ANALYSIS

Using a database comprised of information gathered from the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and Incident Analysis Reports (139,430 reports processed), analysts develop and generate statistical reports providing timely information to the Fire Commissioner and other senior staff.  These reports include:

  • Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly Departmental Performance Evaluations
  • Comparative trend analyses for both Fire and EMS incidents
  • Cooperation and compliance with the City Controller's Office
  • Annual reporting to the Managing Director's Office 

Additionally, analysts conduct administrative research on a variety of topics to assist management in decision making.  These topics include:

  • Cost analysis
  • Geographic/census tract studies
  • Productivity evaluations
  • Hazardous materials reimbursement recommendations
  • Other miscellaneous studies

This Unit is also responsible for coordinating and implementing all hardware and software modifications for both the CAD and all Department computers.
