Members of the Philadelphia Fire Department, as well as surrounding fire organizations, will be hosting The First Annual Southeastern Pennsylvania Fallen Firefighter Survivors Day. This year the day’s events, being held on Saturday, June 12, 2010, will include two venues that will encompass the following:

The first event is the 3rd Annual Southeastern Pennsylvania (SEPA) Fallen Firefighters Memorial Golf Tournament. This event will benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF). The NFFF is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, located in Emmitsburg, Maryland, and registered as a corporation in the State of Maryland. Donations from individuals, organizations, corporations and foundations fund many of the NFFF programs. A grant from the Department of Justice’s Bureau of Justice Assistance and a September 11 recovery grant from the American Red Cross Liberty Disaster Relief Fund supports programs for survivors and coworkers of firefighters killed in the line of duty.

In the first two years, this outing raised over $20,000 dollars for the NFFF, and last year, all events nationwide raised over $250,000 in support of the families and coworkers of our fallen heroes.

The Golf event is being held at the Juniata Golf Course, in Philadelphia, PA. Registration begins at 8:00 AM, with a shotgun start at 09:00 AM. This outing will also be the official unveiling and dedication of the Firefighters Memorial at the golf course prior to the start.

The second event is the First Annual Fallen Firefighter Survivors Benefit Concert featuring the Fabulous Soul Cruisers from 4 PM - 8 PM. The concert venue is Maggie’s Waterfront Café, 9242 N. Delaware Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19114. All proceeds from this event benefit the Local 22 Widow’s Fund, and the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
