Most businesses that operate or generate revenue on Philadelphia park land or recreation property are considered concessions and must obtain a permit or license from the Concessions Management Unit of Parks & Recreation. Pursuant to the City's Concession Rules, these licenses and permits are generally awarded through a public solicitation process, such as a Request for Proposals (RFP).

Approximately 50 concessions currently operate throughout the parks and recreation system, and they generally fall into two categories: food service and recreation. The food service concessions range from mobile food vending trucks to cafes. Recreational concessions include facilities such as bike rental kiosks and golf courses.

The opportunities listed below represent Request for Proposals available with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation (PPR) or with organizations associated with PPR. If no opportunities are listed below please return to this page at a later time.

Aerial Adventure Park - Request for Proposals

Philadelphia Parks & Recreation is seeking proposals for the design, construction, management and operation of an Aerial Adventure Park in West Fairmount Park, Chamounix Drive. PPR believes the proposed Aerial Adventure Park offers a great opportunity to introduce youths and adults to naturalized park settings, teach them about woodland ecosystems, and provide for healthy outdoor recreation, all of which are key initiatives of Philadelphia Parks & Recreation.

A mandatory pre-proposal meeting & tour of the West Fairmount Park, Chamounix Drive site is scheduled for December 6, 2016, 10:30 A.M. local time at the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center, 100 N. Horticultural Drive, Dixon Conference Room, West Fairmount Park, Philadelphia, PA 19131. Please RSVP to Marc Wilken at if you plan to attend the mandatory pre-proposal meeting & tour.

The Deadline for Submitting Proposals in response to this Request for Proposal is January 19, 2017, 10:30 a.m. local time. Proposals must be submitted at the Municipal Services Building, 1401 John F. Kennedy Blvd, Room 170A, Phila., PA, 19102.
