RESIDENTIAL - WHAT TO KNOW

Establishing a well-organized emergency plan is one of the most important things that you can do in your home !

Make sure that you and your family members are aware of potential emergency situations, and that each person knows what to do if something should occur.  This includes developing fire, emergency, and disaster procedures AND conducting practice exercises (e.g., your home escape plan).  By doing this, you can help save lives and reduce injury.

Know the following:

  • How to report fires and other emergencies
  • When it is appropriate to call 9-1-1
  • Evacuation procedures for your home
  • Names and phone numbers of persons or local agencies to contact

Please take some time to view this section for more details about residential safety.
