The Mayor will introduce the 10th annual exhibition for the Wawa Welcome America! celebration. This year’s theme is PHILADELPHIA: The Nation’s First World Heritage City and includes a photograph montage of all 67 of the City’s National Historic Landmarks set against historical and contemporary views of Independence Hall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Mayor will provide the keynote address for this program, operated by JEVS Human Services, designed to assist out-of-school youth in their academic success while simultaneously providing them with the tools necessary to compete in this global economy.

The Mayor will speak at the groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion tower at the world’s first Ronald McDonald House. Councilwoman Blackwell will also be in attendance.

6:30 PM Mayor Kenney to Speak at Inspiring Middle School Girls in STEM
The Mayor will give opening remarks at this discussion between students and tech professionals aimed at determining why so many female students lose their passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) after middle school. Councilman Squilla will also be in attendance.
