The Mayor, Chief Education Officer Otis Hackney, Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell, Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr., Please Touch Museum President Patricia Wellenbach and City Representative Sheila Hess will celebrate PHLpreK students who have completed pre-K and are moving on to Kindergarten, and recognize providers who have increased their state-standard quality rating since becoming a PHLpreK program. PHLpreK is made possible by revenue from the Philadelphia Beverage Tax.

The Mayor, Councilwoman Cindy Bass, Councilwoman Helen Gym, Councilman Derek Green, Councilman Al Taubenberger, State Rep. Stephen Kinsey, State Sen. Sharif Street, State Sen. Art Haywood & The Office of Public Engagement will celebrate Juneteenth, the end of slavery, the heroic Freedom Seekers fighting for freedom and equality and the role the Johnson Family played as abolitionists.

12:15 PM Mayor Kenney to Attend Universal Juneteenth Parade & Festival
The Mayor, U.S. Rep. Dwight Evans, Councilman Curtis Jones, Jr., Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown, Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell and Kenny Gamble will provide remarks and participate in a wreath ceremony to celebrate Juneteenth and the end of slavery.

12:00 PM Mayor Kenney to Speak at 29th Annual LGBT Pride Parade and Festival
The Mayor and Councilwoman Helen Gym will speak as Philadelphia’s LGBTQ Community hosts their annual Pride Celebration. Councilwoman Gym will also be honored as a Friend of Pride.

6:30 PM Mayor Kenney to Attend Iftar Dinner
The Mayor will join members of Philadelphia’s Muslim community for this traditional dinner as they break their fast for the holy month of Ramadan.
