Philadelphia- Managing Director Michael DiBerardinis and Philadelphia Parks and Recreation Commissioner Kathryn Ott Lovell will join Councilman Mark Squilla and community members to host a dedication for the recently constructed playground at Penn Treaty Park. The new playground includes ADA accessible equipment, a new safety surface, and sculptures that were cleaned and restored as part of the playground improvement project.
WHAT:
City officials will participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony with local community members and school children to celebrate  the newly constructed Penn Treaty playground.
Children from local elementary school will recite a Native American blessing to commemorate the Native American connection to Penn Treaty Park.

Local school children will join city officials for a ribbon cutting ceremony at Penn Treaty Park. The children will also read  “William Penn’s Prayer for Philadelphia,” as well as a Native American blessing . The Friends of Penn Treaty will provide commemorative coins and distribute 250 backpacks at the event.
