PHILADELPHIA – Mayor Kenney and City Representative, Sheila Hess, will honor three chefs and restauranteurs from Philadelphia who were distinguished with highly coveted James Beard Awards on April 30. Students from the Dobbins High School Culinary Arts program will showcase their skills to the winners and participate in a mock competition where they pitch their restaurant concepts and menus to the 3 top professionals.

Details:
Following a brief welcome from Principal Dr. Toni Damon, a career panel discussion for the students will be held with the awardees, moderated by Sheila Hess. The awardees will then be pitched on student restaurant concepts and a winning team declared. The Mayor will then present individual Mayoral Citations to each James Beard local winner, along with engraved Liberty Bells. Each James Beard winner will give brief remarks. The program will conclude with a photo opp.
