PHILADELPHIA – Mayor Jim Kenney will visit Pee Wee Prep Educational Center, an early childhood education provider participating in PHLpreK, the city’s new initiative making quality pre-K more accessible and affordable for three- and four-year-olds. As a result of PHLpreK, Pee Wee Prep Educational Center is expanding its West Philadelphia operation to educate 60 more children beginning on January 4, 2017.
“Quality pre-K sets our children up for success,” said Mayor Kenney. “It narrows the achievement gap, increases graduation rates, and decreases the need for special education. These benefits ripple throughout our schools, neighborhoods and local economy. I’m excited to visit our new pre-K partners that will soon be educating our city’s youngest learners; and I encourage families to take advantage of this amazing opportunity while seats are still available.”
To enroll in PHLpreK, call 844-PHL-PREK (844-745-7735) or visit phlprek.org for more information.
