It’s coordinators appreciation week and Philadelphia will be celebrating our Community School coordinators all week long!

In Philadelphia, community school coordinators are city employees who work full-time in designated community schools. Each coordinator works with the entire school community—students, parents, teachers, administrators, service providers, and neighbors—to identify the community’s most pressing needs, such as expanded medical services, after-school programming, and job training. The coordinator then works with service providers and City agencies to bring these resources directly into the school.

Coordinators are the heart of the community schools initiative and we want to take this week to show the nation how much Philly loves our community schools coordinators. Here are a few ways you can help:

1. Post on social media!

We’ll be celebrating all week on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. Shout out a coordinator using #CoordinatorsRock and we’ll share your message! Here are a few ideas to get you started!

  • Shout out to #CommunitySchoolsPHL coordinators who work tirelessly to help our #PHLed students succeed! #CoordinatorsRock
  • #CommunitySchoolsPHL coordinators help make our schools and communities stronger which makes #Philly stronger. #CoordinatorsRock 💪
  • Retweet our message!

2. Do something special for a coordinator

Do you work with one of our coordinators? Take a moment to thank them in person this week! Remember, a little appreciation can go a long way.

3. Encourage others to celebrate too!

One of the great things about community schools is that they are all about community! Tell a neighbor, a friend, or community member to thank the coordinator in their neighborhood!

Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to join the celebration and share why #CoordinatorsRock!
