This Committee has ceased to function.

Agency History
Created by resolution of City Council of December 22, 1955, and composed of nine members appointed jointly by the Mayor and the President of Council, who were to include two members of Council, the Chairman and the Executive Director of the City Planning Commission, and the Commissioner of Recreation. The Committee was directed to make a detailed study of the possibility of the erection of a modern multi-sport stadium and report its findings to the Mayor and Council. The first members were appointed on March 11, 1956.
