Volume 1777-1789(in Pennsylvania Archives, III, 7, 313-383) lists receipts, balances due, and costs of collection of various taxes; also, accounts of militia fines and returns made to State Treasurer. In this period the County Treasurer acted also as City Treasurer.
Volume 1785-1803 lists accounts of receipts from sale of materials of City jail and workhouse at Third and Market Streets, 1785; of tax collectors' balances due for taxes of 1788, 1794, 1799, 1801-1803; of receipts, 1802; of disbursements 1800-1803;.
Volume 1848-1854 holds accounts of receipts from all sources.

2.2 Weekly Reports of Tax Receipts and Orders Paid

Lists of returns made by tax collectors indicate date, collector's name, amount returned, tax year for which returned, totals; similar lists of orders paid show only order number, amount, totals.
