Does your child dream of becoming a firefighter when they grow up? Then sign up for one of the Philadelphia Fire Department’s week-long summer camps!

The first annual Lieutenant Joyce M. Craig Fire Safety Summer Camps will be held this August. The camps are free and for children 14-18 years old.

Fire Safety Camps are named in honor of Lt. Joyce Craig, a Philadelphia Fire Department firefighter who died in the line of duty in 2014. A mural now stands in tribute to her at the Lawncrest Library.

Girls Camp
Monday, August 14 — Friday, August 18 | 9:00 a.m. — 3:00 p.m.
Hunting Park Recreation Center, 1101 Hunting Park Avenue
Free
This camp for girls ages 14-18 includes breakfast and lunch, first aid and CPR training, trying out firefighter gear, guest speakers, visiting the Fire Museum and the Fire Academy, and includes prizes and awards. Applications are now closed.

Coed Camp
Monday, August 21 — Friday, August 25 | 9:00 a.m. — 3:00 p.m.

Free
This camp for all children ages 14-18 includes breakfast and lunch, first aid and CPR training, trying out firefighter gear, guest speakers, visiting the Fire Museum and the Fire Academy, and includes prizes and awards. Applications are now closed.
