Introduction
This Application is developed and maintained by the City of Philadelphia (“City” and “we”). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it through this policy.
By checking the box next to “I agree,” you
- (a) acknowledge that you have read and understand this Privacy Policy;
- (b) represent that you are 18 years of age or older/of legal age to enter into a binding agreement; and
- (c) accept this Privacy Policy and agree that you are legally bound by its terms.
If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Application and delete it from your mobile device.
Scope
This policy applies to information collected through the Application, communications sent through or in connection with the Application, and interactive features such as event listings and partner portals. It does not apply to other City websites or third-party services linked within the Application.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide (e.g., name, email, preferences), information collected automatically (e.g., device details, usage data, location if enabled), and limited third-party analytics data under strict contractual obligations.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide personalized event recommendations, improve Application functionality, communicate updates, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information. The City reserves the right to share information with organizations under contract to act on the City’s behalf. Any information shared by the City with a contractual third party will be protected and used in accordance with the terms of the contract. Information may be shared with governmental and government-related agencies as outlined by various federal, state, and local government information laws.
Public Records
The City is a public “local agency” under and subject to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Right to Know Act (the “Act”), 65 P.S. § 67.101 et seq. The City may be required to disclose certain records as mandated by the Act, except where specific exemptions apply.
Security and Data Retention
The City is committed to data security and the data quality of personally identifiable information (“PII”) that is either available from or collected by the Application. The City takes reasonable precautions to protect PII from loss, misuse, or alteration. Where indicated on the Application, the City uses encryption technology to ensure the confidentiality of a user’s sensitive data (e.g., Name, Social Security Number, etc.). The City will not retain a user’s PII longer than is necessary to complete the user’s request or action. The City shall not be held liable for any injury caused by the disclosure of a user’s PII.
Your Choices
Manage location permissions in your device settings, opt out of notifications in Application settings, and contact us to request deletion or correction of your data.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may change over time. Please check it periodically. When updates are made, we will update the “modified” date at the top. All changes take effect once the revised Policy is posted.
