City prevailing wage rates

Labor Standards in the Department of Labor enforces prevailing wage rates on City contracts. Prevailing wage is:

  • A rate of pay determined by the U.S. Department of Labor.
  • Set by looking at the type of work and the geographic area where it is being performed.

Both the City of Philadelphia and the federal government regularly update their prevailing wage.
