Community Life Improvement Programs

  • Community Partnership Program

    CLIP loans out tools and supplies to volunteers in community groups, schools, businesses, and residents engaged in cleaning and maintaining their neighborhoods.

  • Graffiti Removal

    In Philadelphia, CLIP's Graffiti Abatement Team is the lead agency responsible for eradicating and containing the spread of graffiti. The program has developed into a rapid response unit.

  • Vacant Lot Program

    The CLIP's Vacant Lot Program was created in 2001 to address the problem of nuisance vacant lots. Since then, tens of millions of pounds of trash and debris have been collected and removed from these lots.

Community Service Program

The Community Service Program (CSP) provides a structured program for non-violent offenders (age 18 and up) mandated to complete community service hours.

Community Life Improvement Programs (CLIP) consists of several programs and agencies dedicated to improving the appearance of neighborhoods throughout the City of Philadelphia through the eradication of blight. These programs are designed to maximize effectiveness and efficiency by creating partnerships with residents and businesses to foster sustainable communities.

  • Over 129,075 PROPERTIES AND STREET FIXTURES CLEANED BY THE GRAFFITI ABATEMENT TEAM
  • Over 44,000 VACANT LOT PARCELS WERE INSPECTED
  • Over 15,800 VACANT LOT PARCELS CLEANED BY CLIP CREWS
  • 1,988 COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS COMPLETED
  • 586 COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVED CLEAN-UP SUPPLIES FROM THE COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM
  • Over 5,400 PIECES OF EQUIPMENT LOANED THROUGH THE COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP PRO-GRAM
  • Over 13,700 EXTERIORS OF PROPERTIES INSPECTED AND 3,560 WERE ABATED BY CLIP CREWS
