Mayor Cherelle L. Parker announced the full schedule for One Philly HBCU Week 2026. This six-day event celebrates Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and their history, culture, and success.
From Monday, October 26, through Saturday, October 31, students, graduates, families, faith leaders, employers, and HBCU supporters can take part in events across Philadelphia.
The City of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Eagles are hosting the week with help from community partners. Events will include music, church services, job and college fairs, step shows, band competitions, and football games.
“One Philly HBCU Week is about celebrating the success, history, and traditions of our HBCUs while creating opportunities for the next generation,” said Mayor Cherelle L. Parker. She said there will be something for everyone, including students thinking about college, HBCU graduates, members of Black Greek-letter groups, and people who enjoy HBCU culture. She also invited people from across the country to join Philadelphia in celebrating HBCUs.
The week will end with two football games at Lincoln Financial Field. On Friday, October 30, Lincoln University will play Virginia Union University. On Saturday, October 31, Delaware State University will play Norfolk State University.
