Mayor Parker to Host Historic Bipartisan March of America’s Mayors During the Nation’s 250th Anniversary Celebration

Location: Independence Mall, Philadelphia, PA (Media should stage near 6th and Market Streets to shoot arrivals and the start of the procession at 10:20 am)

On the 250th anniversary of the Continental Congress’ vote for independence, Mayor Cherelle L. Parker will welcome and lead more than 100 bipartisan mayors from communities across the nation in a Historic March of America’s Mayors through the birthplace of American democracy, including members of the United States Conference of Mayors and the Pennsylvania Municipal League.

Mayor Parker to participate in the “We the People 250” Program during the 2026 U.S. Conference of Mayors Annual Meeting.

The signature civic program will bring together mayors, national leaders, and distinguished speakers to reflect on democracy, civic responsibility, and Philadelphia’s central role in commemorating America’s 250th anniversary.

2026 Wawa Welcome America: Salute to Independence Concert

Time: 6:00 p.m.
Location: Independence National Mall, 599 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA

Mayor Parker will join residents and visitors for the Salute to Independence Concert, an evening honoring America’s Soldiers and Veterans. Featuring the renowned U.S. Army Field Band & Soldiers’ Chorus, the concert will celebrate military service through inspiring music in the heart of Philadelphia’s Historic District.
