PHILADELPHIA –  The City is advising residents and visitors of anticipated traffic impacts in Center City ahead of the Croatia vs. Ghana match at Philadelphia Stadium during the FIFA World Cup 2026™. Croatia’s supporter groups are expected to host a traditional fan walk and flag unveiling in Center City on Friday, June 26.

The fan walk will begin at 1600 Benjamin Franklin Parkway, travel around City Hall, head south on Broad Street, head east on Chestnut Street to 7th Street, head north on 7th Street to Arch Street, head east on Arch Street to 5th Street, and conclude at Independence Mall.

Several road closures and detours will be in place this evening to support the fan walk and ensure the safety of participants and visitors. Motorists should expect traffic impacts and delays in the surrounding areas and are encouraged to use alternate routes and allow additional travel time. Road Closures

The following streets will be closed from 5:30 p.m. until the start of the fan walk on Friday, June 26:

  • Benjamin Franklin Parkway between 17th Street and 16th Street

The streets listed above will be posted as “Temporary No Parking” zones. Motorists must adhere to “Temporary No Parking” signs.

The following streets will be closed from 6 p.m. on a rolling basis until the fan walk passes on Friday, June 26:

  • Arch Street between 16th Street and 15th Street
  • 16th Street between John F. Kennedy Boulevard and Arch Street
  • John F. Kennedy Boulevard between Broad Street and 15th Street
  • 15th Street between Arch Street and S. Penn Square
  • S. Penn Square
  • Broad Street between S. Penn Square and Chestnut Street
  • Chestnut Street between Broad Street and 7th Street
  • 7th Street between Chestnut Street and Arch Street
  • Arch Street between 7th Street and 5th Street

Additional streets in the vicinity of Benjamin Franklin Parkway and Old City may be closed or detoured by Philadelphia Police should conditions warrant.

Public Transportation

SEPTA route detours will be put into place and service is subject to change. Customers should refer to System Status regularly for updates to routing throughout the day.
