PHILADELPHIA – The Mayor’s Office of Philly Stat 360 yesterday announced the launch of the Kensington Dashboard, a new public tool that brings together data from across City departments to provide a regularly updated view of the services, resources, and work underway in the Kensington community.
“Increased budget investments give departments the resources they need to deliver services more effectively and respond to the needs of Kensington residents,” said Mayor Cherelle L. Parker. “This updated dashboard provides continuously refreshed data, giving residents and stakeholders more information and more ways to explore how the City is working in their community.”
The dashboard supports Mayor Cherelle L. Parker’s commitment to restoring order in Kensington and ensuring residents can see how City agencies are working together to deliver services and improve quality of life in the neighborhood.
“Mayor Parker’s leadership has empowered City agencies to work more closely with each other to address the challenges facing Kensington,” said Kristin Bray, Chief Legal Counsel to Mayor Parker and Director of Philly Stat 360. “This dashboard highlights the scale of interdepartmental work being done to improve conditions in the community.”
The Kensington Dashboard is designed for all Philadelphians, particularly residents and stakeholders who live and work in Kensington and want to better understand the City’s efforts in the neighborhood.
The dashboard features 30 metrics, organized into four categories:
- Community: Includes an interactive map of City facilities and neighborhood resources, such as Philadelphia Parks & Recreation PlayStreets sites, school crossing guards, and services provided in schools by the Office of Children and Families and the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbilities.
- Public Safety: Provides historical data on crime, narcotics arrests, and fire incidents in Kensington.
- Quality of Life: Tracks investigations, demolitions, City service requests, and neighborhood cleaning efforts.
- Wellness: Displays information on shelter bed usage, service-connected engagements, and visits to the Kensington Wellness Support Center.
Users can filter the dashboard by the most recent complete month, the last six months, or the past year, allowing charts and visualizations to automatically update based on the selected timeframe. Interactive maps also allow users to click or hover over locations to view more information about services offered by community providers.
“Our Administration is committed to innovative service delivery and using data to guide decision-making,” said Mayor Parker. “This updated dashboard builds on the insights from last year’s Kensington Community Revival Dashboard and offers a more interactive experience for residents who want to better understand the City’s work.”
