PHILADELPHIA – The Streets Department announces the start of construction to improve sidewalks and ADA ramps in Logan Square Park. To conduct this work, vehicle lane and sidewalk closures will begin Monday December 1, 2025, and continue through Spring 2026.
During construction, the Logan Circle sidewalk and access to Swann Fountain will be closed to the public. Additionally, the following vehicle lanes will be closed:
- Inside lane around Logan Circle
- Left inbound lane of Benjamin Franklin Parkway
- Left lane of 19th Street north of the Circle
Logan Square is an iconic and historic park in Center City Philadelphia that receives thousands of visitors every year and connects many key landmarks. This project will reconstruct the existing 15-foot-wide outer sidewalk of the Circle as well as 8 ADA curb ramps. This project will improve the safety and accessibility for Logan Square residents and the increased number of visitors during 2026 events.
Project details:
- Upgrade curb ramps to current ADA standard designs
- Upgrade existing concrete curb to granite curb
- Reconstruct existing outer sidewalks of Logan Circle
- Reconstruct existing drainage inlets around Logan Circle
The Streets Department asks everyone to help keep work zones safe by slowing down, paying closer attention, and following all detours and directions when traveling near roadwork.
