November 6, 2025 update:

Thank you for your interest in the One Philly SNAP Support Program Grant Application! As of 5 p.m. November 5, the application period ended, though we are still accepting applications on a rolling basis in the event that there are funds still available. Given the high interest in this opportunity it’s unlikely that there will be funds for future applicants. You are welcome to submit nonetheless if you want to let us know about your work.

If you have already applied, watch your email for the results of your application’s review. The Health Department will be announcing all awardees once all applications have been reviewed.

In response to a lapse in SNAP benefits and the federal government shutdown, the City of Philadelphia has established the One Philly SNAP Support Program to support Philadelphia residents. The program provides access to food, emergency rental assistance, emergency revenue replacement, and a temporary payment deferral program.

The Philadelphia Department of Public Health, working with the Reinvestment Fund, is distributing $2 million to organizations and individuals to distribute healthy, high-quality, culturally appropriate, and appealing free food to Philadelphians experiencing food insecurity.

Grant Amounts:
$5,000 to $50,000

Application Issue Date:
November 3, 2025

Application Response Deadline:
5:00 p.m., November 5, 2025.

Applications submitted after this date may be considered on a rolling basis, depending on the availability of funds.

Requirements:
To be considered for this award, all application questions must be completed.

Award recipients must provide a weekly report to the Health Department that includes, at minimum, the following information:

  1. Number of food distribution locations
  2. Number of individuals or families served, by location
  3. Volume and categories of food purchased and distributed, by location

The Health Department reserves the right to request and collect other key data and metrics from providers related to the performance of the grant. Funds should be spent efficiently to ensure the rapid deployment of resources to all residents. PDPH encourages the distribution of food as often as possible, preferably on a weekly or daily basis. Most, if not all, awarded funds should be spent on purchasing food for distribution.

Additional Information:
Receipt of this award does not confer the right to distribute food in any particular location; additional approvals from other City departments (i.e. Public Property, Parks and Recreation, Special Events office) or other individuals may be needed.

The Health Department held office hours on Zoom to answer questions about this grant program and application. The following are the recordings of both sessions:

Grant Application Office Hours from Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

Grant Application Office Hours from Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
