Five-day event series brings together landlord community, resources, and learning

PHILADELPHIA – Hundreds of landlords from Philadelphia are expected to gather at various locations in the city to attend Landlord Week, a free series of expert-led seminars, interactive workshops, and valuable networking opportunities tailored for local landlords, from May 19 to May 23.

The week-long event is presented by Landlord Gateway, an online, central resource portal for landlords or prospective landlords who are interested in renting their property in Philadelphia.

The Office of Homeless Services’s Landlord Affairs Unit manages Landlord Gateway. Landlord Affairs Director, Ebonye Williams, who conceptualized and developed the resource portal, launched it on May 16, 2023. She described Landlord Week as a key learning opportunity.

“It is important to provide landlords education about conducting business with the city and to help retain and grow their investments through the varied, affordable housing partnerships,” said Ebonye Williams, Director, Landlord Affairs. With the aid of Landlord Week, OHS hopes to provide clear understanding of all our housing initiatives, while providing landlords guidance on our City’s processes for success.”

Landlords will hear from experts representing nonprofit organizations, local businesses, and City of Philadelphia agencies and departments to learn about topics ranging from community investment and tangled titles to building compliance and eviction prevention.

Cheryl Hill, OHS Executive Director and Angela Brooks, Chief Housing and Urban Development Officer, Philadelphia Mayor’s Office, will participate in a discussion about the City’s plan to provide 30,000 affordable homes.

The Landlord Week schedule is as follows:
