On Thursday, April 24th the City of Philadelphia hosted a successful Bring Your Child to Work Day event! With clear blue skies and a warm, sunny breeze we welcomed over 200 children, parents, and enthusiastic volunteers to City Hall for a day filled with learning, laughter, and connection.
Hosted by the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), this year’s event was powered by incredible partnerships across City government. We’re grateful for the enthusiastic participation of the:
- Philadelphia Police Department
- Philadelphia Fire Department
- Creative Philadelphia
- Creative Services under OIT
- Water Department and Fairmount Water Works
- Department of Human Resources
- Mayor’s Office of Youth Engagement
From exploring emergency vehicles and fire hose demos, to hands-on creative stations, mussel exhibits, and career discovery activities, every child had the chance to experience the many ways our city serves its residents.
Of course, no event is complete without treats! Families enjoyed fresh pretzels, popcorn, juice, and water as they moved between stations and soaked up the sunshine in the City Hall courtyard.
Thank you to all the departments, volunteers, and families who made this day unforgettable. Together, we gave our young people an inside look at public service and maybe even inspired a few future city leaders along the way!
