PHILADELPHIA – The Educational Nominating Panel will hold its public meeting on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 5 p.m. to recommend 27 candidates to Mayor Cherelle L. Parker for consideration for appointment to the Board of Education for the School District of Philadelphia.

The Public Meeting on Tuesday, March 12 will take place at City Hall in the Mayor’s Reception Room, (Room 202) on the Second Floor. Members of the public are invited to attend the meeting or watch live on the City’s Facebook Page.
Educational Nominating Panel Public Comments

  • The public comment period is open from March 5, 2024 to May 1, 2024.
  • Individuals can sign up to deliver testimony at the public meeting and/or submit written comments through  an online public portal here until Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 11:59 p.m.
  • The panel invites the public to share with the Education Nominating Panel the qualities and experiences that should be reflected in the next Board of Education.

This year, 121 individuals have applied to serve on the Philadelphia Board of Education. As required by the Education Supplement to the Home Rule Charter, Mayor Cherelle L. Parker will convene the 13-Member Educational Nominating Panel to recommend 27 Board of Education candidates to the mayor, who will make appointments subject to City Council’s advice and consent.
